We Speak for Ourselves, A community Undevied

We Speak for Ourselves; A Community Undivided was a huge success. Held in the Tate Britain The Grenfell Artists Advocates for Change exhibited as a group in the larger exhibition featuring over twenty artists. It was an incredibly moving event with several hundred in attendance from the Grenfell community and wider networks.

The evening was held close to the  eight year anniversary of Grenfell fire. It was a chance to reflect on the impact of Grenfell and connect with the transformative power of community. Showcasing personal and collective stories of resilience through art, creative activities and conversations.

Grenfell Artists Advocates for Change in Conversation

Whilst much of our artwork had been exhibited previously. Oxford university was the first time the Grenfell Artists Advocates for Change exhibited all together.

We shared our work which served as both a tribute to the victims as well as a critique of the systems that allowed the fire to happen.

This was followed by a talk about Grenfell, the lead-up to the fire and fight for justice.

The audience was visually moved engaging in a passionate discussion about Grenfell, the role of art and the artist.
